From the desk of David Walley, York, Maine

"Jack Yeats when he could no longer paint spent days of preparing his last words and this is one of them,

'I have traveled all my life without a ticket and therefore I was never to be seen when the inspector came around because then I was under the seats. It was rather dusty but I used to get the sun on the floor sometimes. When we are asked about it all in the end, we who travel without tickets, we can say with that vanity which takes the place of self-confidence: even though we went without tickets, we were never commuters.'"

--Terrance Devere White, A Fretful Midge (London 1957)

A Message From Geli Walley

David died August 5, 2006 of a massive coronary. His sudden unexpected death has come as a shock to us all. He would have liked to say good bye to his friends and loved ones.

He had one chapter left of his new book to complete. It will be published posthumously.

He encouraged everyone to follow their passions and think for themselves. His memory is a blessing to us all. He was a man ahead of his times. If there ever was a way for someone to correspond from the other side, it would be David. He touched so many people through his books and correspondences.

Here are a couple of articles in memory of David:
